Frequently
Asked Questions on How to Submit Articles
Article
submission is a key part of link-building. Having your
name, and more importantly from an SEO perspective,
your link on another site is great for building Web
presence for your brand or business.
Here are
some frequently asked questions many have when they
submit articles to directory sites.
What
kind of sites can I submit articles to?
There are many article directory sites
that host articles which cover a wide range of topics.
In exchange for the content provided by article submission,
these directory sites let the authors link to their
Website, providing a valuable link-building opportunity.
How
do I know when my article has been accepted?
After registering with an article directory
site, you will usually get an email that notifies you
that the article has been approved and posted. Although
some sites may not give a notification, and you'll have
to frequently check back to see if the article is up.
My
article submission was rejected from a directory. Why?
Most article directories have editors
that will evaluate each article submission. If the article
doesn't meet their requirements and standards, then
they will not post it. You will usually get an email
stating why your article was rejected. There are many
reasons why a directory could reject an article. Most
sites list what they expect with each article submission.
These should be read and followed closely.
How
much time does it take for an article submission to
be approved?
It depends on the site. Some directories
will accept and post an article submission in just a
few days. Other directories may take a month or more.
Can
I use the same article submission for more than one
site?
Sometimes. It's important to read every
directory's article submission terms. Some may blacklist
you if they find your article on another Website, but
some won't.
How
will I know if article submission is working for me?
After your article has been approved,
try Googling your article title. You should see a link
to your article on the front page results.
Can
I buy an article and submit it?
That's not a good idea. You don't know
where else that article has been. You can expect to
be blacklisted if an article directory finds you've
submitted an article that they already host.
Can
I have an article ghost-written?
In most cases, yes. As long as the content
is original, most article directories don't care who
wrote it.
Can
I submit my press release?
More than likely, this is not accepted.
Most article directories frown on article submissions
that are overtly promotional. But if you have a good
press release, it should be easy to "soften"
the piece to make it more palpable to an article directory's
standards.
I can't
write.
That's not a question. But you can hire
an SEO copywriting firm to write the articles. An article
written and submitted by SEO professionals will be faster
than doing it yourself. They should also know what kinds
of articles will grab readers' attention.
Can
I provide a link to my Website in the article?
Most article directories will let you
link to your Website, usually in the author bio that
appears with the article.
Can
I include my email address with an article submission?
Most article
directories won't let you do that. It's for your own
safety, really. Posting your email address on a high
profile article directory would leave it vulnerable
to spammers and other online misanthropes. Having your
Website address posted is safe, though.
